15.12.17 - Frames

The frames started going up on Friday and should hopefully be finished early this week for the roof to start going on. We are very happy with the size of all rooms, especially the big open plan kitchen/family/dining area which opens out to the alfresco.

4.12.17 - Piering

All of our piering was completed today. We had an allowance in the contract for 80 lineal metres, but they only used 49, due to some rock below the surface which stabilised the pad. Forming up of the slab also begun.

29.11.2017 - Site Excavation

We received a call from the site supervisor on Tuesday 28th Nov to let us know that the excavator would be out at the block the following day.

We raced up there after work to check it out and take some photos. Very happy with the cut and how neat he made it, including smoothing out the fill end so it's a nice gentle slope. The other homes being built in our estate by different builders have messy sites and their cut and fill is very uneven and lumpy-looking.

Timeline of events so far

Our land is located within the Hunter Valley on 4 acres. It's a sloped block, with a little creek running through the trees at the bottom. We have chosen to put the house near the top of the hill to maximise views and paddock space for the animals. There will also be a 10m x 12m colourbond shed.
